Prom, Anyone?
Be the Star You Are! Charity has begun to work with the Lamorinda Weekly as a way of expanding its volunteers' writing horizons. A few articles have been published so far, including a short piece about junior prom and senior ball that was published a few weeks ago.

Operation Disaster Relief
In light of the recent events in Joplin, Missouri and other areas in the South, Be the Star You Are! Charity has begun OPERATION DISASTER RELIEF to help [recent] victims of tornadoes and floods. Give the gift of books to families affected by the tornadoes & floods. For a donation of $99 to Be the Star You Are! charity, we will ship a case of beautiful brand new hardbound books to the charity of your choice or to our relief center. Each case has 25-35 NEW books valued at $550.00 or more We have books for children and teens. You may donate as many cases as you wish for just $99 per case. HELP the victims have a happier summer while improving literacy.

Congratulations to Jennifer T., the first Teen Director of Be the Star You Are!® charity, who is graduating from Harvard University this week. Jennifer began volunteering with Be the Star You Are!® as a shy thirteen year old and grew to be an astute leader and excellent communicator. We salute her for her stellar contributions to literacy and positive media and are grateful that she continues to be an active advocate.
