Whenever disasters occur, if it is appropriate, Be the Star You Are!® 501 c3, a literacy and positive media charity, initiates a program called OPERATION DISASTER RELIEF to ship books, puzzles, music, movies and other resources to the area to help alleviate the stress, pain, and sadness through simple entertainment. Haiti has an illiteracy rate of over 85% and because of the devastation, the people needed food, shelter, and medical aid immediately when the devastation occurred. Now Be the Star You Are!® will help in their recovery and literacy improvement efforts by sending books, music, puzzles, movies, and other uplifting resources to Haiti with our new program, OPERATION HAITI RELIEF. It is our goal to help rebuild their lives by supplying books in schools, libraries, and shelters.
